I am a mother!

“To be Queen Elizabeth within a definite area, deciding sales, banquets, labors, and holiday; to be Whitely within a certain area, providing toys, boots, cakes, and books; to be Aristotle within a certain area, teaching morals, manners, theology, and hygeiene; I can understand how this might exhuaust the mind of a woman. How can it be a large career to tell other people’s children about the Rule of Three, and a small career to tell one’s own children about the universe? …. No, a woman’s function is laborious, but because it is gigantic, not because it is minute…” (Captivating by Stasi Eldredge)

I have had the privilege of doing all the above with hundreds of children… around the world, and in my community, but this Mother’s Day brought a new challenge… a new dawning challenge of personal 24/7 Motherhood that i am brinking upon! With less than 10 weeks till our baby bundle arrives, the invitation of Motherhood is ever so ….. many words… but let’s say Adventurous!?! Yes! I do love a great adventure, and i believe motherhood will truly be the biggest adventure of a lifetime!

My many Dear children of Lebanon were excited today to hear that we’re having a baby GIRL! The boys… because now they are assured that they don’t have to change diapers! And the girls… well… you know that little girls always think baby girls are better than baby boys! 🙂 Robert & I are happy with God blessing us with either!

These photos are some of what Robert took of me last week when the beautiful pink cherry blossoms were in bloom! It was a perfect day! A couple may be nice for framing in her new bedroom of pinks & browns! 🙂 If you want to browse through all 70 of them… 🙂 click here… Robert was practicing his photography skills… you know you take about 24 for every good ONE! 🙂

And this bride wore blue!

April 8th was our 8th Wedding anniversary! In girls club we have been emphasizing purity to the girls and it was requested that we have a wedding reinactment. So, what better time! Robert & I are facing a new milestone in our marriage after 8 years! The start of a new little family … and many people say its a tough time for a marriage when the focus becomes on the child rather than on each other! We are purposing in our hearts to not let that happen fully to where we neglect each others needs as well! This was a great month to Renew our vows in a little reinactment of a wedding ceremony not only for the girls but for us as well… The girls enjoyed the small taste of what a wedding is like… I had them write down any questions that they had about the traditions or styles of the wedding in their folders and we would talk about it in our next session.

You can click here to see over 100 pictures that our wonderful photographer, Andrea George, took of us all! (They appear to be be on backwards so maybe you wanna start from the bottom & work your way up!) We had a great time together!

Too hard to choose bridesmaids, so they all were!

We showed the entrance, prayers, unity candle lighting, and kiss… of our wedding on the screen while we acted as if that was our moderator.

Group picture of the whole “Bridal Party!”

I wore one of my bridesmaids dresses from 2000 that my mom made, since being 24wks pregnant i couldn’t zip up my wedding dress totally! 🙂 I used my veil though, and my train as a cape. My mom had made those as well! Thanks again Mother!!

We then had a lil reception where everyone sat at the “head table” … And instead of them bringing a gift for the wedded couple… they took gifts home for their hope chest! 🙂 (My “nesting” had begun!)
